Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit our family blog.
This blog was originally created to post updates on our newborn daughter, which was 4 years ago. God has started using this blog as a ministry and outreach plus a way to record the journey that God is allowing our family to live.
To Our Lord, may He get the Glory and Honor!

Blessings from Shandee

Update: We have been led to further sharing our online journey with posts from the entire family. What started out as a simple blogging journey from a Mother & Wife's perspective has blossomed into a family journey. We now welcome you to The Childress Family Blog.

My absolute favorite song and daily encouragment:

The previous posted link would not work for me so try this one:

Jesus' Birthday

Just think all this Holiday stuff is not really Holiday Stuff, it is the celebration of the birth of sweet, little Baby Jesus. Sometimes we forget about it with all the rush and I am guilty of not slowing down myself to really think about it and give Him the glory and worship that Jesus, Our Savior deserves. Our Christmas card captured that sweet moment of Mary & Joseph holding their newborn baby and looking into His sweet eyes and then to think that possibly one day we will be able to see those eyes ourselves or will our flesh be separated and will we not even think about it, again, I am speechless. The song "I can only Imagine" describes that moment perfectly. {www.starpulse.com/Music/MercyMe/Videos/658871/}It just AMAZES me when I think of it and to know that His birth and death was all part of God's plan. It's not too late to stop and give Him the Honor & Glory that He deserves this Holiday Season. I wish you and your family a very Blessed Season.

With Love,

Celebrating the Season

I hope you are having a great Holiday Season. As for me, it surely is busy as always... it seems I rarely have time to post and I am sorry. Life is so busy for me, just taking care of my girls is so very, busy. I rarely have time for anything. Right now is an especially demanding time, in the past 4 days, we have been to the ER 2 times. It has been so hard, it is rough when they are all sick at the same time. I pray they can get better any day now. Ma's temp. has been up since she got sick and I think maybe she needs an antibiotic switched to something stronger and I pray she can get better. Breathing treatments and being nurse to my girls. I'd love to update more but I have Christmas cards waiting on me so I gotta run while babies are resting. Isn't being a parent when they're sick just rough. This too shall pass.

Look Forward to a card from us this week!
