Welcome

WELCOME!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit our family blog.
This blog was originally created to post updates on our newborn daughter, which was 4 years ago. God has started using this blog as a ministry and outreach plus a way to record the journey that God is allowing our family to live.
To Our Lord, may He get the Glory and Honor!

Blessings from Shandee

Update: We have been led to further sharing our online journey with posts from the entire family. What started out as a simple blogging journey from a Mother & Wife's perspective has blossomed into a family journey. We now welcome you to The Childress Family Blog.

SHE'S HERE!

Our baby is here!  She arrived last Friday, very, very sweet!

My recovery is slow and not going the greatest, but God is in control.

Love is in the air at our house with sweet newborn bliss...

Blessings,
Shandee

Waiting Room

Waiting to see the Doctor

OH, and have I ever mentioned people watch us instead of tv in waiting rooms?  I wonder why :-)
What a blessed Grandma I am going to be someday!

Today I Am...

Preparing for Baby; have lots of clothes to wash and put away

Nesting; carpet cleaning, entire house cleaning, hoping to prepare freezer meals this week

Mothering; learning to use my Slingezee Baby Sling that my husband so sweetly gave me as a gift just to give because he knew I wanted one to wear my baby in.  Training my children, teaching them to take care of the home and praying to be slow to anger when they make messes with shoes and totes from storage I am trying to put away.

Serving; planning to serve the grandmas tomorrow by visiting them and giving them the annual Mother Day flowers picked out by our daughters and purchased from our local greenhouse that is within walking distance from our home.

Feeling; Tired, very tired.  Better than last week, the nausea has subsided...I have worn myself literally out from all the housework I have been doing this week.  My feet and legs are swollen and my back has not stopped hurting since I woke up.  My belly feels huge and I pretty much ache all over, this was my body's way of making me slow down.  I am feeling sad there are only a few more days left to feel the gift of life within my womb, but so excited to hold my little baby and introduce her to her sisters and very excited to see how she will act when her Daddy holds her. She only moves when he rubs my belly, she knows his touch already.

Praying; God will prove a miracle with no adhesions during delivery and also that there will be plenty of time to spare so my spinal will not wear off resulting in me being put to sleep after baby delivery this week.

Wishing; I could serve my two friends that had babies. I feel very bad that I was not able to make and deliver a meal for each of them, but I know they understand.  Also, I wish there was some way I will not be in the hospital next Sunday, I do not want to be in the hospital on Mother's Day!

Wondering; Will this baby be a good sleeper?  How will it all work out when Sophie crawls into my bed in middle of the night with a new sister beside of Mommy!

Thankful for: my hubby & precious girls(they have been little helpers this week doing all their little hands and feet can do in such a loving way,) Friends and Family that keep blessing us and I am feeling really loved!  I am especially thankful for the various gift cards that we have been able to use for items we still needed or even just wanted. We still have plenty left and I"m saving them up. The grocery gift cards have been such a blessing this week because I have been able to pick up simple and some prepared food for easy meals for my family.

God Bless you my friends for prayers, baby showers and gifts, hugs, freezer meals(Maria-they are being saved till after baby's birth, they were tempting so they are in Kathy's freezer till the next week or so :) and the phone calls of offers of help I received last week after being in Labor & Delivery 3times last week.  Bless you all as you have blessed and encouraged me!

Blessings,
Shandee
