Welcome

WELCOME!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and visit our family blog.
This blog was originally created to post updates on our newborn daughter, which was 4 years ago. God has started using this blog as a ministry and outreach plus a way to record the journey that God is allowing our family to live.
To Our Lord, may He get the Glory and Honor!

Blessings from Shandee

Update: We have been led to further sharing our online journey with posts from the entire family. What started out as a simple blogging journey from a Mother & Wife's perspective has blossomed into a family journey. We now welcome you to The Childress Family Blog.

The new comments people tell us

It Is so funny what people say about are huge family these days. Like ; are all these yours, how many are you taking care of , are you having a slumber party, did I give you all the straws you need, do you need a other cup tray. We just look smile. And to see us everybody says we are so well behaved and whisper in Mommys ear and say '' only if they saw us at home.'' ~Madison~

About Naomi, her first time on the BLOG!

The Lord blessed me with a new friend on May 8th, 2009...
Her name is Naomi, she is just as pleasant as her name implies.
Her sweet newborn skin is just as soft as her sister Sophie described it to be.
Her instant smile was amazing since we saw it the day she was born!

Welcome, my new friend! We have a fun time ahead and I thank God for  you and our family!  We've been waiting for you.

It's summer time, let's go for a walk in your sling with sissies :-)

Day 24

Today is Day 24 of being a brand-new LIFE GIVER!  My body, along with God's provision & guidance, gave birth to a precious NEW LIFE!  There is so much catching up for me to do and so little time, even less time than before. I can't wait to put together Naomi's story for it will be a lovely one... I have had several complications since giving birth this time and just now am pulling myself together out of necessity.

I feel and look more like myself these days. We made our first public appearance yesterday at church and WOW, did we get oohs and aaaahs...I was so thankful for my baby-wearing sling that my husband so sweetly picked out and surprised me with. Naomi was cradled snugli against me while well-loved church members wanted to touch her every being that they could manage(and unknowlingly or meaningly to spread any germs they may have,) but she was safe and protected against her Momma, almost hidden.

Big sisters are loving their baby, wanting to hug, snuggle and share every tiny moment with her.  She is truly the BESTEST, GRANDEST, FUNNEST GIFT that Rick and I could ever have given them.

Rick & I are simply loving her.  Loving her smiles(YES<>
